Kadensho, reopening in 2026, is appreciated for its location right across from Arashiyama station, providing excellent access to the Arashiyama area and other sights reachable by train. Guests often enjoy the blend of traditional and Western elements in the spacious rooms and the tatami flooring throughout the hotel. A highlight for many is the variety of onsen experiences, including five private onsens available 24/7, as well as public options with both indoor and open-air baths; some found the check-in process and amenities arrangement could be improved. Acceptable Stay, But Could Improve

poor service bad food
The hotel is in a fantastic location very near the train station.
The service felt somewhat lacking (not the usual Japanese standard) . I found the dinner to be the worst part of my visit. The food and service were not up to par with my previous experiences in Japan.
